Alexanders obsession nearly destroyed his army. ☕ Thank you for supporting the work: https://buymeacoffee.com/storyforgest...
This historically grounded retelling follows Alexander of Macedon after Issus (333 BC) as he targets Tyre to break Persian control of the Mediterranean, answers the killing of his envoys, and orders an impossible engineering solution: building a causeway from the mainland to the island under constant missile fire. Watch the siege escalate from failed assaults and fire ships to the decisive turning point when Alexander assembles a fleet from Sidon, Byblos, Arad, and Cyprus, surrounds the city with over 200 ships, and pounds the walls with siege towers and catapults until the breach is forced.
The fall of Tyre transforms the war by collapsing Persian naval power, securing the Levant, and opening the road to Egypt and the next phase of Alexander’s empire building, proving that for him no fortress and no horizon was beyond reach.
