#Riga #Latvia Hi, this time we will see the center of Riga. At the beginning we will see the panorama of the city. The best place for it is building from the communist era. Soviet symbol domination over other countries. Similar ones were built in other ex-communist countries. Building height 108 m, 21 floors. Built in 1955. Architectural style: Stalinist architecture. Currently, the Latvian Academy of Sciences is located here. Address: Akademijas laukums 1, Rīga, LV-1050, Latvia. From the observation deck you will see the most interesting attractions of the city: 1) Old Town - UNESCO World Heritage Site. (You can watch it in my other video) 2)The TV Tower: third tallest tower in Europe, the tallest in the European Union. Height 368 m. You will only pay for tickets to the observation deck in cash. The ticket cost us 6 Euro per adult. After seeing the city panorama, we will rest in the city park. This park is located between the old town and the Freedom Monument. It looks especially beautiful in summer. You can visit it, and sailing on its canals by boat. Then we will take a walk along the boulevards on the river Daugava. A place for walks with a beautiful view of the river and passing ships. We will see too the favorite place to take selfies in Riga. It is located on the promenade in front of the Freedom Monument. Riga Freedom Monument - standing in the city center, a symbol of the country's independence, unveiled in 1935 A 42-meter-high monument dedicated to Latvians who lost their lives in the struggle for independence in 1918–20. We walk further along the city's central promenade. Next to it is worth seeing the Orthodox Church of the Nativity in Riga. The multimedia installation ends the walk along the main promenade.
