You can spot an AI edit in about two seconds. Skewed cards. Motion that has nothing to do with the speaker. A big red cross every time someone says "no." This video shows you the 3 giveaways, and the 7 reasons AI editing keeps landing on the same look. Once you know why it happens, you can fix it in your own edits or catch it before a client does. The 3 giveaways 1. Skewed cards. A flat grid looks boring to the AI, so it tilts everything. 2. Templatey motion. The animation isn't tied to the speaker's energy or the music. 3. Strikethroughs and crosses for "no." AI is better at telling a story in words than in visuals, because it learned from far more text than images. Why AI edits look this way It averages what it learned from, like Tailwind docs and Remotion templates. Text and shapes are easy, so it never goes hunting for real assets unless you say exactly where to get them. It plans scene by scene, so it forgets what was said one scene ago. That's why the same words keep showing up on screen. It runs on templates. Animation speed and other values stay the same, where a human editor would change them to fit the moment. It's a showoff. Ask for subtle and it still adds a little extra. That's why AI websites are full of glows, glass and 3D. It uses the same transition every time, usually a zoom blur, a whip or a crossfade. It puts a generic whoosh or pop on every element. If you edit your own videos, watch for these seven and cut them. If you use AI to edit, now you know what to tell it. Which one have you seen the most? Tell me in the comments.
