GOTU GRIEF AND ANGER! FAMILIES AND RESIDENTS BLAME GOVERNMENT OVER RISING KILLINGS

Three of the five people killed in the Gotu attack by suspected assailants from Samburu County have been buried in different cemeteries on the outskirts of Isiolo town. Speaking to the media after the burials, family members, relatives and friends condemned what they described as the brutality inflicted on their loved ones. They said they were tired of constantly mourning and burying their loved ones while accusing the government of dragging its feet in taking action to address the insecurity. The residents pointed the finger at Interior Cabinet Secretary Murkomen, calling for his removal from the security docket. They accused him of being overwhelmed by his responsibilities following a series of killings in the region. They also blamed local political leaders for failing to guarantee the safety of residents.
