A Rainy Drive Over the Mountains to an Old Japanese Town | POV Kei Car

A rainy weekday afternoon drive through the mountains to a small old town in Japan. On this day, I had something to deliver to an acquaintance who lives on the other side of the mountains. The journey takes us along gentle mountain roads, crossing over the mountains before arriving in a small local town. The roads have become much better over the years, but the town itself still retains much of the atmosphere I remember from the past. This was once a livelier place, but as the population has declined over the years, the town has gradually become much quieter. On the way back, I decided to drive through the town rather than simply heading straight home. I wanted to capture a little of the atmosphere of the old post town that once existed here and the streets that remain today. There are no famous sightseeing destinations or special events — just a rainy afternoon journey through the mountains and a quiet Japanese town that has changed with time while still holding traces of its past. The drive ends when I stop for a short restroom break on the way home.
