The narrative: Castle Hill Farm is a significant part of the historic landscape of the Blackstone River Valley and a nationally recognized remnant of the Industrial Revolution. It was established in the 1870s by John C. Whitin, who used it to provide work for the unemployed during the Depression. After John C. Whitin died, his second wife Sarah ran the farm as a model dairy farm.
