The World Keeps Turning

THE WORLD KEEPS TURNING When I was young, I thought the world would wait Whenever hearts were broken, whenever dreams would fade I thought that time would give us room to heal And somehow understand the pain we feel But morning comes, no matter how we cry The sun still rises in an empty sky And no one sees the battles deep within When all you do is try to breathe again And nobody ever told me How hard this life could be How sometimes just surviving Takes everything in me But the world keeps turning Even when I'm falling apart The sun keeps rising On the ruins of my heart And I keep on breathing When I don't know where to start I've learned that life goes on Even when it hurts... Even when it hurts... We grew up believing in a happy end That broken hearts would always learn to mend But life has ways of changing what we know And taking things we're not prepared to lose I've learned to say I'm fine when I'm not okay To hide the tears and carry on each day And sometimes all the strength that I can find Is getting through another lonely night And nobody ever told me That growing up could mean Pretending that you're happy When you're falling apart unseen And the world keeps turning Even when I'm falling apart The sun keeps rising On the ruins of my heart And I keep on breathing When I don't know where to start I've learned that life goes on Even when it hurts... I wish I knew Why we must lose the things we love Why life can take so much from us And still expect us to be strong And I've cried a thousand silent tears I've carried pain through all these years But somewhere deep inside of me... There's still a part that won't give in! AND THE WORLD KEEPS TURNING! EVEN WHEN I'M FALLING APART! The sun keeps rising On the pieces of my heart! AND I KEEP ON BREATHING! THOUGH I'VE BEEN BROKEN AND SCARRED! And now I know there's strength in me I never knew I had! OH, I NEVER KNEW I HAD! Life doesn't stop... When everything falls apart And somehow we go on...
