Part of Hurricane Week 2022 The 2018 Pacific Hurricane Season was one of the most active Pacific Hurricane Seasons on record. During this season, 23 Tropical Storms formed, 13 of those strengthening to hurricanes, 10 of those strengthening to major hurricane status, and 3 of those becoming powerful Category 5 hurricanes. Due to so many powerful storms forming, 2018 now holds the record for the highest ACE recorded in one Pacific Hurricane Season, even surpassing the 1992 Pacific Hurricane Season.
