Around 7,000 kg of spoiled mawa was destroyed in Delhi, while raids in Jaipur, Pune, Mumbai, Barnala and Jehanabad also uncovered fake and substandard food products. Despite inspections of 5 lakh food samples over three years, penalties in 88,000 cases and convictions, food adulteration continues.
