God with us!!!

As I was preparing for this set, I was deeply encountered by the Lord through my friend Craig Aven’s song, “The Cross Still Stands”; remembering that the gospel and the cross is for real people in real life. Not the perfect, churchy, cleaned up version we can be. He came for the broken. He is Emmanuel! He is with us. In the real life stuff. Unphased. Not surprised. Not distancing himself til we’re in a better spot. Close to the broken hearted, dining with sinners, acquainted with grief and suffering, man of sorrows, the great comforter. Our advocate and friend. Oh Jesus, your gospel is such good news. Oh how I need you and love you and want more of you. Thank you for the cross, thank you for being close. I pray this set can bring a fresh revelation of his nearness and fresh faith for God to move in situations that feel too far gone. He is able! He is who he has always been and he will be forever.
