Two months ago I walked out to my shed, opened the door, looked at my bike...and went back inside. I didn't even get on it. I just wanted my brain to see that we saw a bike today and we didn't die. 😅 Today I'm riding 80 miles a week, climbing, transitioning into clips...and the scale has gone UP 10 pounds. In this episode, I'm sharing what I do when I've worked really hard toward a goal and it feels defeating. How I feel the feelings, take an inventory (hello, sugary coffees three to four times a week), celebrate the growth, and do a thought audit. Then I take those thoughts to the Lord and get His truth over them. "Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14 Is there a goal that's felt disappointing lately? Drop a comment and tell me...I'd love to pray for you. If I don't give up, I win. The same goes for you. 💛 xoxo CHAPTERS 0:00 Welcome back 0:53 The back injury that stopped everything 3:20 Looking at my bike...and going back inside 4:38 80 miles a week (and the scale went UP) 6:18 Feel the feelings 6:50 Take an inventory (the coffee confession) 8:19 Celebrate the growth 9:11 The thought audit 9:49 Little Pacman macrophages 11:42 Press on 12:41 I made the injury my identity 13:25 If you've felt defeated... 13:59 If I don't give up, I win 14:09 Join The Joy Revival If you like pictures and want to follow me on other fun adventures: IG: / alibrownie Webbie: https://alibrowncreative.com/ HAPPY MAIL: PO BOX 2725 Universal City, TX 78148
