They All Left Me Here

The dinner table has grown so small, No heavy steps out in the hall. The kitchen's quiet, the toys are still, A heavy frost sits on the sill. My husband found another road, My children left to share their load. The house they filled is cold and clear, And they all left me here. I swept the floors and made the beds, And smoothed the hair upon their heads. But paths diverge and houses clear, And they all left me here.
