Nine Elms has changed dramatically in recent years, transforming from a largely industrial area into a major residential and commercial district. Film location fact: Nine Elms and the surrounding Battersea area featured heavily in the 1973 film The Optimists of Nine Elms, starring Peter Sellers. Several scenes were filmed around Battersea, including Battersea High Street and Queenstown Road. No commentary, just the journey as it happened from the front of the bus.
