We're not arguing that. They broke the rules and they deserve to be punished. But here's the question nobody is asking. How many different clubs have won the Premier League in 30 years? Seven. And before City's takeover in 2008? Four. The same four clubs, winning everything, year after year, protected by financial rules that were introduced just as the door was closing behind them. We play devil's advocate on the biggest scandal in Premier League history — not to defend Man City, but to ask whether the system they broke was already broken. Whether Financial Fair Play was ever really fair. Whether the rules that are supposed to create a level playing field actually just protect the clubs that were already ahead. And whether punishing City fixes any of that — or just locks the door again. Leicester won the league. Then got picked apart. Villa won the Europa League. Then had to sell six players to stay within the rules. Newcastle have unlimited money and still can't catch the top four. Man City kicked the door down. And the real question isn't just whether they should be punished. It's why the door was locked in the first place. Is the Premier League a closed shop — and should we be angrier about that than we are about City? Tell us below.
