Medford to Lexington | The Galloping Urgency of Freedom

Longfellow’s midnight rider returns in a performance version built for music: lanterns in the Old North Church, a waiting horse, the road through Medford and Lexington, and an alarm moving ahead of the British column. This adaptation is aimed especially at listeners who know Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem and want to hear its famous narrative energy translated into song. The most recognizable phrases have been reworded for audio production, but the names, signal, clock-like progression, and galloping urgency remain.
