A raw and intimate look at the Krayzie Midwinter Backyard Ultra, known as KMBU.
In a Backyard Ultra, runners complete a 6.7 km loop every hour. Once they return, they have to recover, refuel, and prepare to start again. There is no fixed finish line and no guaranteed distance. The race continues until each runner reaches their personal limit.
Set against a cold, dark, and demanding night course, this film follows the physical strain, mental pressure, and quiet decisions that define the Backyard Ultra experience. Every loop becomes a question of whether to keep going, whether the body can handle another hour, and how far is truly enough.
This is not simply a story about winning. It is a story about endurance, fatigue, expectation, and the moment when one more lap becomes harder than it first appeared.
KMBU stands for the Krayzie Midwinter Backyard Ultra, organised by Krayzie Kapers.
