On September 11th, Lillian Bonsignore was a lead instructor at the EMT academy. When the second plane hit the second tower, everyone at the academy boarded city buses headed toward Lower Manhattan. After 18 straight hours on the scene, Lillian says her body quit. She had never ever felt that degree of exhaustion. Although it had just begun to rain, she wrapped herself in a donated blanket and slept on the open sidewalk. But she didn’t realize she was on a missing-in-action-list, and her two daughters, just 3 and 14, didn’t know if their mom was dead or alive. Hear her share her story with Q104.3 FM’s Shelli Sonstein.
