Good morning. Grand rising. Greetings. 😂
Apparently my brain wants consistency, my spirit likes a little magic, and I’m not promising which greeting you’re getting from me on any given morning.
But today I wanted to talk about something bigger:
What are you saying about yourself?
When you tell your story, are you automatically reaching for your weaknesses, mistakes, failures, or the parts you're embarrassed about?
Or are you learning to identify the strengths and growth that were happening too?
I talk about this with the men I work with.
Instead of saying:
“I was just sitting there doing time.”
What else was happening?
Maybe you were working a recovery program.
Learning anger-management skills.
Practicing coping skills.
Learning how to communicate differently.
Taking accountability.
Developing patience.
Learning something about yourself.
Preparing for life to look different when you walked back out those doors.
That doesn’t erase the past.
It means we're learning how to tell the whole truth about ourselves.
And that matters out here too.
Because life has puddles.
Then the puddle becomes a pond.
Then a lake.
Then a river.
And eventually you’re swimming in an ocean with sharks — and apparently one of them might have somebody's license plate stuck in its tooth. 😂
Life will give us enough difficulty without us constantly becoming another voice speaking against ourselves.
There will already be people who misunderstand you.
People who judge you.
People who only see one chapter.
You don't have to join them.
Speak to yourself with some respect.
Present yourself with intention.
Find your strengths.
Tell the truth about your growth.
And when you're manifesting something different for your life, let your words, actions and presentation start moving in that direction too.
I have never claimed to be the smartest person in the room.
I just have a deal with my Higher Power:
Show up.
Process what I'm learning.
Share it.
And if it helps somebody else, good.
So I'm going to keep coming back.
And I'm inviting you to do the same.
How are you showing up?
🖤💛
