How to use and adjust the choke on a classic mini. Get it set up properly and your car will start easily. As a tuner, my job is to ensure your car is set up properly to operate in all types of weather conditions. For cold weather operation, the choke system is needed to allow your car to start. Proper setup and operation ensures that this system works smoothly and your car starts easily. This video is an in depth look at the history, operation, and design of the choke system used on many cars that use the SU carburetor. I am specifically focusing on the Classic Mini in this demonstration I also include a short video showing a cold start and how to operate the choke to set the ideal idle speed as well as show what an overchoked engine sounds like.
