In this video, Jono looks at the benefits of working with a stereo audio file version of a section of your track. DJs usually don't have access to the individual instrument lanes or stems of a production; instead, they apply processing to a whole stereo file. Adopting this approach can be fun at the production stage too. Jono will show you how to bounce a section of your track as an audio file, and then how to chop it up, to search for individual loop sections to tease the listener. He'll explain the difference between audio regions and audio files, including how to convert a region to a new audio file, in case you want to process it 'destructively'. Lastly, he'll introduce the Phat FX plug-in to add Distortion and a Band-Pass filter treatment. 00:00 Intro 00:41 Track playback 01:06 What do I mean by DJ-style treatments? 01:57 Bouncing the track to stereo 02:56 Configuring the arrangement 03:24 Finding a loop 04:33 Chopping and copying audio regions 06:29 Reversing an audio clip 08:16 Phat FX for whole-track processing 09:54 Playback with BP Filter XY Pad 11:08 Recording Automation and adjusting arrangement 12:37 Summary
