I Misteri - Settimana Santa a Enna

Ogni anno, nel giorno del Venerdì Santo, 16 Confraternite costituite da circa 3000 confrati sfilano fino a notte fonda tra due ali di folla nel centro storico di Enna. Le processioni rappresentano solo l’apice di tradizioni antichissime (la prima Confraternita si costituì nel 1261), tramandate gelosamente di generazione in generazione e ulteriormente alimentate nel XVII secolo durante la dominazione Spagnola. Per il “turista per caso” uno spettacolo da non perdere che certamente lascerà il segno. Every year, on Good Friday, 16 Confraternities made up of around 3000 brethren parade until late into the night amidst two rows of crowds in the historic center of Enna. These processions represent only the pinnacle of very ancient traditions (the first Confraternity was established in 1261), jealously passed down from generation to generation and further fueled during the 17th century Spanish domination. For the "accidental tourist," it's a spectacle not to be missed, one that will surely leave a lasting impression.
