Pale Raven's Landing (from Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave) arr. for Cello Octet

I don't even have the game yet!! I've been getting by with watching my friends play...originally, I didn't even intend on seeing any of the game until I had a copy in my own hands, but I caved. Naturally, the thing I was most interested in was the OST, and it was pretty surprising to see a lot of recycled material from Three Houses. Obviously, it's a sequel, so there's bound to be references, but I wasn't expecting entire tracks to be ported over. My arranging style on this channel seeks to replicate as much harmony, timbre, and rhythm within the bounds of a cello ensemble. This piece proved to be more difficult than I thought, and I really didn't get as close as I hoped to emulating the emotion of the original. Trying to pluck a cello like a guitar just doesn't carry the same smoothness and sustain. I was really happy with how the beginning texture came out though, the "underwater" feeling of the first melody really shows through with a mute. I haven't been on this channel as much recently - sorry about that! I've been doing work with ‪@CryptetMusic‬ on both the arranging and performing ends. Probably what will happen going forward is anything that doesn't go through them, is gonna end up here. Or if I'm struck with inspiration.
