This week we get a bonus: not just Miriam, but a whole group of brave women whose bold choices God used to save Moses and, through him, a nation. In Week 5 of Daughters of the King, we look at Miriam’s story in three parts: I. Brave Women. The midwives Shiphrah and Puah defied Pharaoh because they feared God. Then came Moses’ mother, his clever big sister Miriam, Pharaoh’s own daughter, and her servant. Pharaoh dismissed women as no threat, yet these were the very people God used. He even protected Moses by bringing him into Pharaoh’s own household. II. Prophet & Worship Leader. Miriam is the first woman Scripture calls a prophet. After the Red Sea crossing, she led the women with tambourines and dancing: “Sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted!” III. Daughter of the King. In Numbers 12, Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses, and God asks them, “Why were you not afraid?” We see how God’s discipline differs from human discipline. It is never too harsh or too light. It is always for our good, and always aimed at healing and restoration, because the Lord disciplines those He loves. Questions to consider this week: Do you fear God, the way the midwives did? What bold, brave choice might He be asking of you? Is there a spirit of complaint or carelessness with your words that God may be lovingly correcting? 📖 Exodus 1–2, Exodus 15 | Numbers 12, Numbers 20:1 | Micah 6:4 | Hebrews 11:23 | Hebrews 12:5–11 | James 3:1–2 | Psalm 141:3, 86:11, 51:10 #DaughtersOfTheKing #BibleStudy #WomensBibleStudy
