Is Zaheer ACTUALLY a Bad Matchup for Toph?! | Avatar Legends

ZAHEER USED TO DESTROY ME. The last time I posted Toph vs Zaheer gameplay, I got absolutely demolished. It was my first time playing the matchup and I was fighting one of the strongest Zaheer players I'd encountered, so I definitely had a LOT to learn. Since then, I've had much more experience fighting Zaheer players and have started figuring out how I can actually approach this matchup with Toph. But instead of continuing to get steamrolled, I started to ADAPT. I began recognizing Zaheer's patterns, finding better defensive options, and creating more opportunities for Toph to actually get her offense going. By the end of the set, things had become MUCH more competitive and the score was looking far more even. It's a pretty big difference from my first experience against Zaheer. One thing to keep in mind: this footage is about a week old. Since these matches were recorded, I've continued working on Toph and have optimized my combos and improved my overall gameplay even further. So this isn't necessarily the best representation of where my Toph is TODAY, but I still think this set is a great demonstration of the progression I've made against Zaheer. I went from barely knowing how to approach this character to actually finding ways to fight back and make the matchup competitive.
