He knew he would lose. He went anyway.

The evening before the last battle, a man rode to the top of a hill and stopped.
Below him lay the town, the water, and the last light on the roofs. Tomorrow he would ride down into it.
For fourteen years he had lived in the mountains, under house arrest, forgotten by the country he once frightened. His hair went grey there. His children were born there.
Now he wore red again. Red armor, red banners — so that every man on the field would know exactly where he was.
On his back, six coins. The toll for crossing the river of the dead. A man who carries his fare is not planning to come home.
He did not expect to win. Everyone knew the numbers.
But one thing was still his to decide: where to aim.
Not the flanks. Not the supply lines. The commander's own camp — and nothing else.
The sun went down behind the sea. The wind came up the hill and passed him.
He turned the horse around, and rode back to his men.
Japanese epic ambient with taiko drums and koto —
for deep focus, long work, and quiet resolve.
ROKUMONSEN 「六文銭」 means "six coins" — the fare the dead pay to cross the river.
The Sanada clan wore it as their crest. They carried it into every battle.
Let it play.
