There is a quiet truth on the road: you do not control the wind, the punctures, or the delays. You only control whether you ride.
I was ready to leave Maun. Everything packed. Route planned. But the bicycle had a puncture. I fixed it. Lost a day. Botswana reminded me that patience is part of the journey.
The following morning I left before the heat rose. And for the first time in weeks, the wind pushed instead of punished. I covered 100 kilometers in just 6 hours. The road opened. My legs remembered. The silence between towns felt like freedom.
I was riding toward Namibia.
Not much happened along the way. No drama. No chaos. Just empty road and my own thoughts. But then a family stopped me and asked for a photo together. Small moment. Big meaning. In a world where people fear strangers, they chose connection.
It was the weekend. Everywhere, people were gathered. Beer. Music. Laughter. Botswana knows how to rest. Maybe that is the lesson this country keeps teaching me — work hard, but never forget to live.
I reached a small town with a Shell station and a petrol pump nearby. I set my tent beside it. The sky darkened. The road grew quiet. I slept under the stars, one border away from a new chapter.
