eMTB | Lapierre Overvolt | Afan Valley - Blade

We took to a trip to the dark side and hired an e-bike for the day 😱 Jeff, the main man at Afan A Blast, sorted us out with one Lapierre Overvolt to supercharge Bandit's day as we hit the awesome Blade trail starting out from Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre. So with a mix of 'e' and 'non-e' power this is a taste of the trail, for as long as the GoPros had capacity to record (Wheezy's ran out as we hit Perigrine Ridge so it's just Bandit's POV for the awesome final section The Rock!). Oh, and did we forget to mention, we're in Wales and it rained! Before anyone gets on a soapbox about e-bikes, good or bad, let's put this into context for us. Bandit is 6-months on from breaking his hip and finding recovery a slow and frustrating journey - we both want to get out and ride trails, but stamina and strength can only be worked on at the pace healing allows. Riding canal towpaths have their place, but we love to explore and take on gradients, and this is where an e-bike can seriously help us! As for the broader non-e/e-bike debate - we say each to their own as long as we're all respectful to each other it's getting out and riding that matters.
