In just over a course of 3 days, several cool trains have traversed over the CSX River Subdivision. The first was a K038, which met another unit train (K637) in Ridgefield Park. K038 had 2 BNSF widecabs, while K637 had 2 CSX widecabs. Next was K074, a new loaded crude oil train to Eddystone, PA. This train originally had 3 UP engines, but was later swapped out with 2 CSX GEVOs bracketing HLCX SD40R 6341, still maintaining the Southern Pacific bloody nose/speed logo scheme. Myself, along with a few friends, managed to get it in 2 spots.
The next day, October 12, 2014, I took my DJI Phantom quadcopter for some aerial shots. First up from above is Q008 with a UP GEVO 3rd out. Later on, the Office Car Special, P928 shows up with CSX F40PH-2 9993 and ES44AH 3131, along with 11 passenger cars.
The next day, Columbus Day, marked something historical. UP 1989, the Rio Grande heritage unit, would be the first ever Union Pacific heritage unit to make an appearance on the River Line. I managed to get it in 2 places, although the first wasn't planned. I hope you enjoy this video, as well as the new perspectives of railfanning. Enjoy!
