KC STEM 15 Years 15 Stories: Christina Chandler

For 15 years, KC STEM Alliance has helped connect students, educators, and community members with meaningful opportunities to explore STEM. As part of our 15 Years of Impact celebration, we’re highlighting Christina Chandler, Senior Community Impact Education Manager at JE Dunn Construction and FIRST LEGO League Challenge Program Consultant at KC STEM Alliance. Christina’s connection to STEM education runs deep. She is a Project Lead The Way educator, a former FIRST Robotics coach, and a parent of a FIRST alum. In this video, Christina shares why volunteering with FIRST and serving as a PLTW classroom mentor can give adults a firsthand look at the incredible potential of today’s students. “If you really want to see how amazing these students are, then you need to volunteer for FIRST or be that PLTW classroom mentor, because that's when you really see what the future holds with our young people.” Join us as we celebrate 15 years of impact and the students, educators, volunteers, and community members who continue to shape the future of STEM in Kansas City.
