Stephen Fuhr: A member of Canadian Parliament, a former F-18 fighter pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the man in charge of the country’s defence procurement. Indeed, Fuhr has the role of Secretary of State (for Defence Procurement) and has been in this position since May 2025. As the individual in charge of decisions such as Canada’s next fighter jets, it is thus quite interesting to learn that Fuhr has always held the opinion that the F-35 is NOT the right aircraft for Canada.
