Portugal summer 2023 (Part 1) - Carvoeiro, Albufeira, Portimao, Lagos (Algarve region) & Evora

We started our Portugal adventures down south in Algarve, exploring the beautiful coastline from our base at Carvoeiro. With a rental car, it was easy to explore other nearby towns such as Albufeira, Portimao and Lagos. A boat trip is a must to see the beautiful rocky formations (Smuggler’s Cave, Paradise Cave, Eyes of God, Benagil Cave & more). And if you love dolphins, you are in for a treat as they can usually be spotted if you chose the right tour. On our way to Tomar, we stopped by Evora. Some sleep was sacrificed for a 6am start but it was totally worth it as we enjoyed seeing the Roman Temple ruins, the beautiful rooftop of the Evora Cathedral and unique Chapel of Bones.
