The second chapter of our special journey along Korea's northernmost publicly accessible roads near the 38th parallel. This approximately 139 km drive begins in Inje, Gangwon Province, and continues west through Yanggu and Hwacheon toward Cheorwon. Following accessible roads as far north as possible, this journey captures the landscapes of Korea's remote border region. Winding mountain roads, deep valleys, quiet villages, and the changing scenery of the northern countryside. As we travel through Yanggu and Hwacheon toward Cheorwon, the landscape reveals a quieter and less familiar side of South Korea. Rather than staying only on national highways, this drive follows provincial and local roads to capture the changing landscapes of Korea's northern border region.
