The Misunderstood Genius of Weekend at Bernie's

In the Summer of 1989, Weekend at Bernie’s arrived and changed cinema history forever. Well, it didn’t, and critics hated it. But this dead man comedy movie was still alive enough to turn a tidy profit. So a sequel became inevitable - even if it didn’t make much sense to have one. But they went all in anyway, with voodoo queens, buried treasure and dancing zombie Bernie. Despite all this, almost nobody seems to like Weekend at Bernie’s II. Today though, in the latest episode of Sequelpalooza, I’m going to try to convince you that this corpse-based comedy franchise deserves a much better reputation.
