Hello, and welcome. I'm Robinson Crusoe themselves, and I'd like to invite you to sit down with me for a while and let me tell you the whole story of Robinson Crusoe from beginning to end, in my own voice, as I lived every moment of it myself.
This is the TWIT88 Youtube chanelt, and what I offer here is simple. These are the great books people always mean to read and somehow never do — the books people wish they had read at school, and quietly feel they ought to know. I take one of those royalty-free classics and I tell it back to you properly, as a story, not as a lesson. No essays. No study notes. No dry analysis. Just the tale itself, warm and unhurried, the way stories are meant to be shared.
With TWIT88 you get summaries of royalty-free classic books told all the way through, in order, with the feelings left in. You'll hear how it felt to leave my father's house against his advice, how the sea terrified me, what it was like to be sold into slavery, and how it felt to stand on an empty shore and understand that every other soul aboard was drowned. You'll be with me when I find the print of a bare foot in the sand, and when I finally hear a human voice again after twenty-five years.
My hope is that by the end you'll understand this story well enough to sound genuinely well-read — well enough to join a conversation about it, recognise the references, and know exactly why the book has lasted for centuries. Not a summary that leaves you guessing, but a real telling, with the danger, the loneliness, the small triumphs, and the long stretches of quiet reflection all in their proper places.
The main story here runs approximately 60 minutes, though that varies a little depending on the length of the book being told. It's designed to be listened to in one sitting if you like, or dipped into a chapter block at a time. Many people put it on while walking, cooking, driving, or lying awake at night, and I'm told it's very good company in the dark.
Again, these really are the books people wish they had read at school, and there's no shame at all in coming to them late. TWIT88 exists precisely for that — for the reader who's curious rather than dutiful, who wants the pleasure of the story without the homework.
So pour something warm, settle in, and let me take you from a comfortable house in York to a wrecked ship on a sandbank, to a fortress carved into a hillside, to a footprint that changed everything, and finally home again by way of a Spanish wreck, a mutiny, and a very memorable bear in the mountains of France.
If you enjoy this one, there's more waiting for you at TWIT88, and more still being added. Every telling follows the same promise: faithful to the original book, told plainly and kindly, with nothing invented and nothing important left out. That is the whole idea behindTWIT88.
Thank you for listening, and for letting me tell it my way.
