Winter, 1973. Cars line up around the block with empty gas cans. This is how the 1973 oil crisis and a 10% supply shock triggered a lost decade of stagflation. Now, with a war choking the Strait of Hormuz and inflation rising in 2026, are we making the exact same mistakes? In 1973, an Arab oil embargo quadrupled prices and crippled the U.S. economy. But the tap was only one of four things that turned a brief oil shock into a decade-long nightmare. From the government price controls that created the famous gas lines, to the Federal Reserve's desperate fight under Arthur Burns and Paul Volcker, this documentary breaks down the anatomy of the crisis.
