American Reacts to the BIGGEST UK Hits of 1988! 🇬🇧🎶 | Part 1 | 80s Music Nostalgia

WELCOME TO 1988, BRITAIN! 🎶🇬🇧 Our journey through the biggest UK singles of the 1980s continues, and we've officially arrived in 1988! After making our way through 1987 and discovering some absolute classics, we're diving headfirst into another incredible year of British music. AND I AM SO READY! 😂 The late 1980s were such an interesting time for music. Pop was enormous, synthesizers were everywhere, rock was still going strong, and the UK charts were filled with an incredible mixture of sounds and artists. From massive international stars to British chart hits that might never have made the same impact in America, I'm loving discovering just how different our musical experiences were on opposite sides of the Atlantic. One of my favorite things about this series is hearing songs I recognize immediately alongside tracks that somehow completely passed me by growing up in the United States. And occasionally discovering that a song I thought was HUGE in America was actually even bigger in Britain! Today is PART 1 of our 1988 UK music journey, and I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us. Will we discover some new favorites? Will I recognize more songs than I expect? Will Britain once again leave me wondering how America missed out on so much brilliant music? PROBABLY ALL THREE! 😂 🇬🇧 BRITISH MUSIC LOVERS, I NEED YOUR MEMORIES! 🎶 What was your absolute favorite song of 1988? 📻 Which songs were constantly playing on British radio? 💿 What was the first single or album you bought that year? 🎤 Which artists defined 1988 for you? 🇺🇸 Were there any huge British hits that surprised you by never becoming popular in America? And if you were growing up in Britain during the '80s, PLEASE share your memories! I absolutely love reading your stories about the music, the fashion, the concerts, and what life was like during these years. Our musical time machine is officially heading into 1988!
