I Tried Surviving 3 Countries On $10 (South America's Weirdest Border)

I attempted an impossible challenge to get a meal in 3 different Amazon countries with just 10 dollars total. This is a raw travel vlog that shows the culture shock and friction of navigating South America's unregulated borders solo. In the USA or Canada you can maybe get some McDonald's with $10 but I wanted to see just how far I could stretch this modest budget in Latin America. So I took upon the challenge of surviving the entire day and getting one meal each in three different countries all without spending over $10. And right away I realized how insanely difficult this challenge would be when I had to spend half of the entire amount on boat rides across the region's unregulated borders - before I even had a morsel of food. As I hopped off the boat in Peru, I was met with laughter from the locals when I told them I was looking for a meal for a paltry $1.50. This experience was repeated in Colombia and Brazil where locals laughed and told me what I was trying to do was simply impossible. From crossing violent waves in the Amazon river, eating dry bread, to facing the extreme environment of travel off the beaten path, and being humiliated by my miniscule budget, the friction of this journey pushed me to my absolute limit. Budget travel is not easy but pushing past the discomfort led to some incredibly authentic and unscripted cultural moments. From charming interactions with locals, experiencing the unique culture and environment of one of the strangest places on the planet, and ending off the night with a delicious meal, this day proved that magic exists even in the struggle. This raw travel documentary exposes the true culture shock and experience of solo travel across unregulated international borders and relying entirely on cheap street food to survive.
