The Way We Feel

“The Way We Feel” is a romantic pop ballad about first love, quiet moments, and the feelings that stay with us even as time moves forward. This song was created from the emotions we all carry — the unforgettable conversations, the places we once shared, and the people who changed our hearts forever. I hope this song brings you back to a special memory of your own. Whether it reminds you of someone you loved, a moment you miss, or a feeling you never forgot, I’d love to hear your story in the comments. The Way We Feel *[Verse 1]* I still remember that Friday night Walking home under the streetlight glow You were laughing with your old blue jacket on Saying, “Don’t let this moment go” We were young, we were chasing dreams With a pocket full of nothing but time Writing our names on the foggy glass Like the world was yours and mine We didn’t know what tomorrow meant We didn’t know where life would lead But every little second with you Was everything I’d ever need *[Pre-Chorus]* And even now when the years move fast When the days become a blur I close my eyes and I’m right back there Still feeling everything we were *[Chorus]* That’s the way we feel When the world disappears When your hand finds mine And there’s nothing to fear That’s the way we love That’s the way we know A little piece of forever In a moment we hold Through the changes and the miles Through the tears and the smiles I still believe what we found was real That’s the way we feel *[Verse 2]* I found an old photograph last week Hidden inside a book on my shelf Two kids with impossible dreams Trying to figure out ourselves You were talking about a house someday With flowers growing by the door I was making promises so easily Like we had a lifetime to explore Life took us down different roads And seasons changed along the way But some memories never leave Some feelings never fade away *[Pre-Chorus]* Because every song that plays at night Every place we used to go Brings back a little piece of us A story only we could know *[Chorus]* That’s the way we feel When the world disappears When your hand finds mine And there’s nothing to fear That’s the way we love That’s the way we know A little piece of forever In a moment we hold Through the changes and the miles Through the tears and the smiles I still believe what we found was real That’s the way we feel *[Bridge]* Maybe we were only passing through Maybe time was teaching us to grow But I wouldn’t trade a single day Of the love we used to know Because the first time my heart felt home Was the first time I looked at you And no matter where this life takes us That feeling will always be true *[Final Chorus]* That’s the way we feel When the memories appear Like a song from yesterday Still playing in our ears That’s the way we love That’s the way we know Some hearts leave a light behind Wherever they go Through the changes and the miles Through the tears and the smiles You’re the chapter I’ll always keep The dream that lives inside of me And if we ever lose our way If tomorrow changes what we see I’ll remember those nights, those skies, those times When you were everything to me That’s the way we feel Forever young, forever real A story written in our hearts A love that time can’t steal
