Scientists Tested the Dire Wolf's DNA — It Was Never Really a Wolf

Scientists Tested the Dire Wolf's DNA — It Was Never Really a Wolf I’m uncovering how scientists finally extracted DNA from five ancient dire wolf bones—and why the results challenged more than a century of museum displays, paintings, and textbook assumptions. From the tar pits of early- twentieth-century Los Angeles to modern genetic research, I trace what these Ice Age predators really were and what their DNA revealed. #DireWolf #AncientDNA #Paleontology #IceAge #ScienceHistory
