“This Card’s Name is Treated As” - Failed Yugioh Mechanics

Throughout the history of Yugioh, there have been many cards whose names become another card’s name while on the field or in the graveyard. Many of these effects have been very powerful, but a similar mechanic has created some awkward restrictions. Namely, cards whose names are always treated as another card’s name, even during deck construction. This permanent name treatment is technically a rule condition rather than an effect, and that distinction has a big impact on how these cards play.
