Is this the replacement for all 2 door coupe in the market? The CLA not only went through a major redesign. When it first launched in 2013, its body shape attracted many, but you will never be able to satisfy everyone’s taste. I am same to safe to say that the current CLA, not only looks aggressive. The bold lines on the bonnet lets you know that you’re driving a car that means business. Pairing with its silhouette and stance, it would turn eyes and makes the car look fast even when it's not moving. The CLA also has a new beating heart of 1.3 litres, though not very big, it is lower on displacement but has up to 11 percent more output that its 1.6 litre predecessor. The great thing about the M282 engine is that that most of its power is available in a very sensible 1600 – 4000 RPM. This CLA 200 is not a pocket rocket like the CLA 45 AMG but its decent output and size means it very drivable around town and doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket by emptying its fuel tank. This platform that the CLA was built on are identical to its other siblings in the Mercedes range. The A-Class hatchback, A-Class sedan, GLA, GLB, CLA Shooting Brake and the B Class comes from the same MFA2 platform. Wearing different suit for different occasions. However, being in the entry level of a luxury brand. You may expect more scratchy plastics in the overall finishing. It’s definitely not a deal breaker for me. But with the right specs, not many will take note of these scratchy plastics as the tech you can add to this car are simply impressive. A few key things that this CLA 200 AMG Line Premium Plus comes with my favourite MBUX system with the “Hey Mercedes” function, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, AMG body styling, 18 inch AMG alloy wheels, the Multibeam “lights display” which illuminates the road without dazzling other road users and an automatic panoramic sunroof! A close competitor in the small luxury sedan would be the BMW 2 series sedan, and Audi A3 sedan. I would put my dollar on the CLA and don’t get me wrong, I’m not a hardcore Merc fan. In fact, I like BMWs for the better part of driving feel. But the interior design of the latest Mercs have a better feel good factor which makes me feel that its competitors have quite a lot of work to do.
