We were asked to create a soundtrack for any work in The National Gallery's collection for the show "Soundscapes". We chose the painting St. Jerome in His Study; 1460–1475; by Antonello da Messina. Inspired by this work, we decided to not only create a sound piece but also a sculpture that would attempt to recreate the space within the painting. This became a slightly obsessive, perhaps impossible, but in the end enlightening journey for us. An interview and more footage are here:    • Cardiff and Miller respond to Antonello da...   Studio Team: Zev Tiefenbach, Maryke Simmonds, Robyn Moody Prop Painter: David Janzen Vocalist: Bernhard Landauer Composition: Vergine Bella by Guillaume DuFay (1397-1474) Horse Wrangler: Brian Jungen Installation London: Carlo Crovato Vocal recording, Additional Sound mixing, and Programming: Titus Maderlechner
