In this video, we brought a 40-year-old Simplicity Rear Engine Mower back to life! I bought this old riding mower off Marketplace to get it running and cutting again. Despite its age, it has a really cool vintage look that I love. It had a few issues to sort out: the carburetor was pretty dirty, the battery was dead, and the starter relay was broken. The mower deck is also rusted through in a few spots, but since I’m only using it occasionally to clear trail paths in our forest, that’s not a big deal for me. And if the deck ever falls off completely... maybe we'll turn it into a racing mower! After addressing those points, it ended up running and cutting surprisingly well for a 40-year-old machine.
