Workshop Highlights & Topics Covered: 1. Covered shapefile operations, including selecting and copying attribute table data to Excel and extracting specific state layers from the main India district shapefile. 2. Demonstrated preliminary location-allocation analysis by converting village polygons to central points using the Feature to Point tool to conceptualize accessibility scoring. 3. Explained how to set up the Network Analyst extension, convert coordinate systems to projected systems, and create a new network database from road network data. 4. Taught New Service Area analysis to generate network-based polygons representing accessible areas at varying distance thresholds (1km, 3km, and 6km) and how to incorporate real-world barriers. 5. Showed how to export service area polygons and apply zonal statistics with raster data to calculate the total population within the defined service areas. 6. Addressed data management best practices for deleting temporary files and provided troubleshooting for XY data plotting and adjusting shapefile boundaries using the cut polygon tool.
