I wasn't expecting this FREE Toronto art gallery to be so inspiring!

Join Mike and I as we check out one of Toronto's best hidden gems: The Power Plant, a free contemporary art gallery at Harbourfront Centre! The exhibits we got to see during our November 2025 visit were quite inspiring, and really made us thing about our relationship to materials and the environment. "The Skies Closed Themselves When We Averted Our Gaze" by Canadian indigenous artist Jeneen Frei Njootli, featured textile-based sculptural works made from old fabrics and found objects posed by resin. His work evokes a spirit of life and the idea of living on and off of the land. The other exhibit, "Murderers Bar" by Lucy Raven, was a vertically shot film displayed on a curved screen showing the effects of the the removal of four hydroelectric dams on the Klamath River, showing how the process changed the landscape and restored natural freedom. Both exhibits offered some moments of calm reflection and inspiration, and it was a great free thing to do in the harbourfront / downtown Toronto overall.
