Welcome to Hai Hai Channel! 🌿🏖️ Join us on another beautiful adventure along the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario as we visit the Singing Sands Day Use Area and Trails, located along the Lake Huron shoreline approximately 10 kilometres south of Tobermory. Singing Sands is one of those special places where nature offers something a little different. The beach gets its fascinating name from the unusual acoustic phenomenon associated with the dry sand. Under the right conditions, moving grains of sand and footsteps across the dry surface can produce a soft humming, whistling, or musical vibration—giving the beach its famous “singing” name. 🎵 Before enjoying the beach, we explore the approximately 2-kilometre easy and family-friendly loop trail. The trail includes a short boardwalk and passes through beautiful dune and fen ecosystems, revealing a very different side of the Bruce Peninsula. This unique habitat is home to a fascinating variety of plants, including orchids, rare Great Lakes-region plants, and four species of carnivorous plants. As we walk through the peaceful landscape, we take in the scenery and discover how these delicate ecosystems thrive among the dunes and wetlands. After completing the trail, it's time to enjoy the beautiful Singing Sands Beach on Lake Huron. The warm, clear water is especially inviting on a sunny summer day, and one of the most impressive features of the beach is how gradually the lakebed drops off. We can walk a surprisingly long distance into the lake while still enjoying the shallow water beneath our feet. From the peaceful trail and rare ecosystems to the unique singing sand and warm, crystal-clear waters of Lake Huron, Singing Sands is a wonderful destination for nature lovers, hikers, families, and anyone exploring the Bruce Peninsula.
