In our new episode of Every Given Sunday, the goals are flying in at Poynton.
Emile Heskey is back and has promised Stephen Ireland two goals.
There’s just one slight issue. Emile only wants to play the final 10 minutes.
Stephen has other ideas.
Meanwhile, Papiss Cissé is doing Papiss Cissé things. There’s an outrageous Maradona-esque goal, a genuine contender for miss of the season and an increasingly personal battle with the Poynton keeper over who can produce the most Sunday League shithousery.
Former Southampton star Nathan Redmond finally gets on the pitch too.
And, frankly, it’s scary how good he still is.
George Boyd grabs a couple of goals before disappearing off to coach his daughter’s U13 match, because priorities are priorities.
We also get to the bottom of a bigger question: why does Wythenshawe keep attracting so many former Premier League players?
Lots of goals. Lots of laughs. Papiss causing chaos. And a referee with a touch that would make Berbatov proud.
Just another Sunday with Wythenshawe.
