I Tested 50 MPH to 600 MPH 80° Launch Water Slides in Planet Coaster 2
🚀 What happens when you test 12 high-velocity launch water slides fixed at a wall-climbing 80-degree launch curvature, systematically scaling speeds from a modest 50 MPH all the way up to a mind-blowing 600 MPH in Planet Coaster 2?
Welcome back to the channel! Today, we are putting Planet Coaster 2’s hydraulic launch engine, rider G-force tolerances, track friction parameters, and multi-passenger vehicle mechanics to the ultimate physics stress test. We constructed 12 custom launched water slides set at a steep 80-degree launch incline relative to the pool basin below, testing an inverse scaling model: as launch speeds and acceleration rates drastically increase, the track launch lengths decrease!
How does launching a solo inner tube at a gentle 50 MPH over a long 370-foot track compare to blasting a heavy 6-person raft flume at a staggering 600 MPH and 1,200 ft/s² acceleration over a condensed 150-foot launch track? When a 6-person raft hits an 80-degree vertical curve at 600 MPH, will the hydraulic thrust send riders flying out of the atmosphere, or will gravitational pull draw them back down into a chaotic mid-air ragdoll splashdown? We put every single extreme acceleration setup to the ultimate test to find out!
Here is the complete step-by-step technical breakdown of all 12 launched water slides featured in today’s experiment:
Slide #1 (Single Float Baseline): 50 MPH Top Speed | 100 ft/s² Acceleration | 370 FT Launch Track
Slide #2 (Single Float): 75 MPH Top Speed | 150 ft/s² Acceleration | 350 FT Launch Track
Slide #3 (Single Float): 150 MPH Top Speed | 300 ft/s² Acceleration | 330 FT Launch Track
Slide #4 (Single Float): 200 MPH Top Speed | 400 ft/s² Acceleration | 310 FT Launch Track
Slide #5 (Single Float): 250 MPH Top Speed | 500 ft/s² Acceleration | 290 FT Launch Track
Slide #6 (Single Float): 300 MPH Top Speed | 600 ft/s² Acceleration | 270 FT Launch Track
Slide #7 (Single Float): 350 MPH Top Speed | 700 ft/s² Acceleration | 250 FT Launch Track
Slide #8 (Single Float): 400 MPH Top Speed | 800 ft/s² Acceleration | 230 FT Launch Track
Slide #9 (Single Float): 450 MPH Top Speed | 900 ft/s² Acceleration | 210 FT Launch Track
Slide #10 (Single Float High-Speed): 500 MPH Top Speed | 1,000 ft/s² Acceleration | 190 FT Launch Track
Slide #11 (Double Lifebuoy Tandem): 550 MPH Top Speed | 1,100 ft/s² Acceleration | 170 FT Launch Track
Slide #12 (6-Person Raft Flume Finale): 600 MPH Top Speed | 1,200 ft/s² Acceleration | 150 FT Launch Track
Throughout this video, we analyze key hydro-physics factors, including mid-air flight trajectory arcs, peak vertical altitude reaching high above the theme park, speed decay rates upon atmospheric reentry, and final landing splashdown impacts into the pool below. You will see full-length pov rides, third-person pursuit tracking, and slow-motion replays of the most insane moments!
