Eagle River Railway’s latest operations episode delivers a dynamic mix of yard work, mainline action, and coordinated meets as we finish threading the long string of empty log cars into Keane Yard before the Utah & Rocky Mountain Alcos roll out of the engine facility to collect their Spokane‑bound freight. While the diesels assemble their consist, the steam locomotive turns on the wye, builds a fresh train of empties waiting on the Keane siding, and heads toward Myrtle Creek, the staging yard for Logging Camp A, to meet the loaded log train. With priority on the line, our Spokane freight departs Keane, meets the log trains at Myrtle Creek, and pushes on toward Beaver Cove, showcasing smooth dispatching, tight coordination, and classic mountain railroad rhythm.
