What are estimands?

Estimands are a way of describing the research question in a clinical trial. They can help doctors, patients, policymakers and other stakeholders understand and interpret trial results, helping them make better decisions about the most suitable treatment. This video explores why estimands are important using the example of a mental health clinical trial. It can be used to help involve public partners in discussions around estimands.
